Hi,
This is the first time i am writting a blog. Always wanted to do this but never found time or sometimes forgot all about it. Today i m doing this, maybe cos i am bored since i have quit my job and have no work since i m serving notice period or may be i wanted to share my feeling with world. But nevertheless, bottom line remains i m writting it.
Well in this chapter i wanted to ask people especially all the entrepreneurs, in this current gloomy environment, what is more important for him. Is it the maintaining the profit margin or keeping the business running in profitable manner.
Lets me give you a background why is this question being raised. I am a financial analyst and working with a broking firm. I as an equity analyst track automobile and chemcial sector and have written around 6 company report with all the targets acheived along with appraisals from well know personalities in the industry including my Big boss. But in one of my most recent report, according to my chairman report wasnt of the same quality and he all of sudden decided to fire me. After few discussion with him i have forwarded the same report to him after few days and believe me or not he cleared the same report. I was so much confused. I didnt understand what exactly went wrong in my report. The same person who questioned the quality of the report in the first time and now clears the report the very second time. When speaking to other biggies in the organization, they told me that the company is looking out for cost cutting mode and this is the one of the measure the company to remove their confirmed employees. I have already quit this job not because this is unsafe place to work at but the reason for me quitting is since i was not able to spot the answer for the question "IS THIS ORGANISATION WORTH THE HARDWORK I PUT IN?"
So i have askef this question to most of the people here.....i understand running the show in this environment is a herculant task for the businessman and hats off to them since they run the show with great difficulties. But is it right on their part to remove their employees overnight and telling them find your way to keep their cash balance high and shareholders happy. Even in our studies we have studied one point Responsibilities towards the society and employees. I guess most of them have forgot this point since as human beings we pay more attention in taking rather than giving.
